Who is Fiat-hitachi?
Fiat-Hitachi was a industry created through a joint venture between Fiat and Hitachi in 1986 to produce excavators since 1988 in San Mauro Torinese, Italy.
Fiat-Hitachi excavators were produced by the Italian manufacturer Fiat-Hitachi Construction Machinery S.p.A., which was a joint venture between Fiat and Hitachi established in 1986. The joint venture brought together Fiat’s experience in the construction machinery industry and Hitachi’s technological expertise.
The first Fiat-Hitachi excavators were launched in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and quickly gained a reputation for reliability and durability. The range of excavators produced by the company included machines for a variety of applications, including construction, mining, and demolition.
In 1999, the joint venture between Fiat and Hitachi was dissolved, and the company was split into two separate entities: Fiat Construction Equipment, which became a subsidiary of CNH Global, and Hitachi Construction Machinery, which remained a subsidiary of Hitachi.
Following the dissolution of the joint venture, Fiat Construction Equipment continued to produce excavators under the Fiat-Hitachi brand for several years, but eventually phased out the use of the Fiat-Hitachi name and began producing excavators under the Case brand, which is also owned by CNH Global.
Today, Hitachi Construction Machinery continues to produce a range of excavators under its own name, while CNH Global produces excavators under the Case and New Holland brands. Although the Fiat-Hitachi brand is no longer in use, the excavators produced by the joint venture remain popular among operators and are still in use in many countries around the world.
